The haunting, restrained vocals repeat the same dream-like image, “Lamp lady, / Selling tangerines and / With the loving eyes of god; / Drift back to the sun.” This mysterious vision imagines an alternative path of what the musician’s life could have looked like. Soundtracked by an intricate string melody, the looping of which is paired with those fresh-as-hell beats, ‘Lamp Lady’ presses onto ever-more decadent territory thanks to the addition of multiple delicate violins.
